Abstract

The Hoshin Kanri Overview will introduce participants to the concepts of Hoshin planning. The overview will familiarize participants with the history of Hoshin, its forms, rules, and procedures. It will show how Hoshin augments a Total Quality Management (TQM) philosophy and how it can become the cornerstone of any quality management system. It will also show how Hoshin supports other quality systems like Six Sigma and the Balanced
Scorecard.

At the completion of the overview, participants will understand the basic mechanics of Hoshin Kanri and how it can be used to improve their organization's planning process.

About Our Presenter

Pete Babich is President of Total Quality Engineering. Founded in 1991, TQE specializes in the Hoshin Kanri process and help organizations implement Hoshin by providing consulting, training, books, and software. Pete is the author of the Hoshin Handbook and developer of TQE's Hoshin software. He has a MSEE degree from San Diego State University and is an ASQ Certified Quality Manager and Certified Quality Engineer.
