About our Speaker #1
Kim Niles is a certified Master Black Belt and ASQ CQE, CSSBB. He has a
Masters degree in Quality Science with emphasis in Six Sigma, has taught
approximately 1800+ people, has studied under several related gurus, has
performed over 160 designed experiments, and has completed projects with a
combined total of $400M. He has dozens of publications circulated to over three
million people via iSixSigma.com, ASQ’s Six Sigma forum, and technical
publications such as SEMI and SAMPE.
Recently taught his third UCSD Extension Lean Six Sigma Black Belt
certification course and has taught Lean Six Sigma through Business Process
Solutions for ~3 years. He also teaches numerous courses through ASQ San
Diego and has given 112 talks to local technical societies. Kim serves on three

Bill Oakes
is a Staff Quality Engineer at Elgar Electronics in San Diego. He has a BS in
Engineering, an MS in Systems Management, and has worked primarily in the local
electronics industry for over 20 years. He is an ASQ Certified Quality Engineer

Bill is a Past Chair of the ASQ Palomar section and the portion of this talk was
given last year to that group and was well received.

is the Director of Quality at Alfa Scientific Designs, Inc. in Poway, CA. She
has a BS in Microbiology / Clinical Chemistry, is a Senior Member of ASQ, and
holds certifications as a Quality Auditor and Quality Biomedical Auditor. She
has worked in the San Diego area for over thirteen years for medical device / in
