We'd like to thank our Treasurer Bud Russell and our Auditing committee chair Natalie Vollrath  for their hard efforts in enabling our summer financial audit to pass with flying colors.  Our section is financially solid which allows us to subsidize our meeting costs.

More On The Contest Announcement

The last two months we've announced the following contest but we haven't received any replies ... you've got a good chance of winning.  Here is the information:

The dates for the course in San Diego are September 13 and 14. The location venue has not been finalized yet, but when it is we will post a brochure link on the course calendar located at www.asq.org/cs/courses.  A description for the Customer-Focused Satisfaction Course may be found at: http://www.asq.org/cs/courses/satisfaction.html.

Here's what we posted in the last newsletter:

This Month's Meeting

Our July meeting went well (see details here).  Our August meeting will be as follows:

Aug.08, 2006

"Baldrige Criteria and ISO 9001 as Business Models"

Vinod Kumar

President ISOguru, Inc.

isoguruvinod@yahoo.com www.isoguru.com

Abstract

You can create a world-class dynamic, effective and efficient management system in your organization based on the Baldrige criteria and ISO 9001 only if you really understand the intent behind these standards, and use them as a business model rather than a set of requirements/criteria.

While some organizations miss out on optimizing their benefits, many have successfully used these concepts as business models, and the structured discipline they provide, to achieve leadership position in their industry.

In this talk, Vinod Kumar will share his vast experience as a leading consultant in the field and discuss how you can realize optimum gains from these programs.
