Abstract
This presentation will provide a brief (non-technical) overview of the DMAIC
approach to Six Sigma and identify several key concepts which greatly
increase the likelihood of success for your Six Sigma project.
Novice and experts alike will find value in this talk as the concepts
discussed are applicable to all team activities. The presenter will not only
identify the core concepts behind highly technical or complex ideas, they
will be conveyed in a simplified fashion, free of specialized knowledge or
definitions.
Speaker Biography
Floyd D. Bates III is Senior VP of Strategic Services for Materus Global, a
consulting firm specializing in Strategic and Technological Outsourcing,
Project Management, and Six Sigma.
Floyd graduated from Drake University in Des Moines, IA with a degree in
Mathematics and Computer Science. He began using the tools of Six Sigma in
1994 in a manufacturing environment and since proceeded to achieve great
results in a variety of industries. In 2004 and 2006 Floyd was invited by
the American Society for Quality to help re-write portions of the
certification exam for Six Sigma Black Belts.
In his 18 years of professional experience, Floyd has been a consultant to
numerous Fortune 50 companies within a variety of industries including,
banking, software development, insurance, aerospace, pharmaceuticals,
manufacturing, telecom, as well as city, state, and the federal government.
