MESSAGE FROM THE EDUCATION CHAIR

"Workshop Experiment"

Section Members & Honored Eavesdroppers,

Workshop Experiment

Since the purpose of providing educational assistance is not to make money, we've decided to experiment with a sliding scale.  This month's two hour workshop on the 24th on the topic of "Measuring Your Measurements: MSA, Gage R&R, etc." will cost only $5 each if we can get 50 people.  The current price is $39 with 7 people and three presenters as outlined on our workshops page at http://www.asqsandiego.org/3hrwrkshp.htm.  See scale below.

See more details on our workshops page or below.

December Test Date Status

Our proctor chair Emelito A. Ong, Sr. Quality Engineer with REMEC Broadband Wireless, LLC. (Tel (858)312-6943 or e-mail: emelito.ong@remecbroadband.com) reports the following numbers related to certification tests taken in San Diego on the December 2, 2006 test date.

One can see that only about half of those that planned to take the test actually did take the test.  This is actually slightly worse than we've seen in years.

If you were one of these "no shows", please contact me and let me know what we might have done differently to assist you.

Current Educational Course Status

Our CQI refresher course just started Jan. 2nd at 5:00PM for 10 weeks (Tuesday's); 5:00PM for 3 hours a night at Nuvasive in the UTC area at 4545 Towne Center Court. Cost is $299 per student. Contact Rich Ostrin to join at rostrin@roadrunner.com

We have a CQA course in the works and a CQE course in the works.

Do you have an ASQ certification and a desire to earn RU's, and cash while helping our education board plan and or teach courses?  Contact me if so.

Key Announcements
