Other Announcements & News

  • Submit your officer nominations now for the 4 executive board positions to Emelito Ong at emelito.ong@remecbroadband.com  or call him at (858)312-6943.  See http://www.asqsandiego.org/officerdutydescr.htm  to identify the duties of the different positions. Volunteer for the other appointed officer positions listed on the same link to help out our organization.  Note that we have three members running for Treasurer.  We posted one profile in our last mailer, here's the other two.  We plan to elect one of these candidates during our next meeting:

    • Huizhen Zhu:  Materials Engineer at SMI in San Diego, CA since 2005 Research/Teaching Assistant U of T, Toronto, Canada 2000 2004 Sr. Engineer/Vice Director HRIW, Harbin prior to 1999.   Master in Materials Science and Engineering U of T, Canada Mar., 2005 • Bachelor in Mechanical Engineering Tsinghua University, China • Certified Quality Engineer ASQ June, 2004 • Certified Welding Engineer European /German Welding Federation 1996 I have more than ten years accounting experience in personal and family's life but not any organization. I am doing it very well from routine activity, tax return for myself and others, to property management. I am not only a fast learner but also keep my commitment seriously. I am really confident that I am able to deliver the results on time if I work in the committee of ASQ San Diego Section as a treasurer.

    • Nancy Pasquan:  I joined ASQ in 1984 and had only one small lapse in membership since then ( I was BUSY!). I am now a senior member and have attended many meetings and functions over the years. I have two certificates: CQA and CSQE, both attained in the last few years. I have successfully participated on many teams, I have adequate spreadsheet skills, and lots of experience with book keeping for my own business and personal finances including four rental houses. Professionally, I have 25 years experience in software quality assurance and development for military, commercial and FDA regulated companies. My main focus has always been process improvement and compliance with standards and regulations. I conduct software supplier audits with these principles in mind. I started my own consulting business in 2004 and have enjoyed the opportunity to establish my own methods and working with a wide variety of clients.

  • New Linked-in Group: A few of our members have started a Linked-in ASQ San Diego Group.  Join us if you like to chat about quality or our section.  See http://www.linkedin.com/groups?home=&gid=1234957&trk=anet_ug_hm
