MESSAGE FROM THE EDUCATION CHAIR

"$500 Education Gift"

Section Members & Honored Eavesdroppers,

While we wait for our new Education Chair, our officers at large would like to make the following points:

  1. Our membership meeting this month will be this Tuesday (May 15) instead of our regular second Tuesday.  See you this Tuesday.

  2. During our meeting this Tuesday, our speaker will be giving attendee's the following:

    • $500 Voucher Gift for Attendence.  As a special incentive, Dr. Starling will be giving out $500 vouchers to take the online course Advanced Roadmaps Development for free from the Roadmaps Institute. You must attend the presentation to receive the coupon and the coupon is only valid through December 31, 2007. Advanced Roadmaps Development builds on the Fundamentals of Roadmaps Development course with a strong focus on collaboration methods and techniques. A process appropriately called the ROADMAP Process is presented in detail. ROADMAP is the acronym for Review, Opportunity, Analyze, Develop, Milestone, Authorize and Proceed. Through this process organizations transform their assessments into actionable Enterprise Roadmaps, which integrate divisions and business units.

  3. During our next meeting we will have 10 special guests (Dr. Starling's fan club), so be on your best behavior ... please leave your overalls and hip wader boots at home for this one.

Current Educational Course Status

  • Several refresher courses are under way including the CSQE, CQE, and CQA.  See details on our refresher course page.

  • Unless 10 more people sign up within the next week for this month's workshop on "getting certified", it will be postponed until next month.  Watch our workshops page for more information.

News From National ASQ

  • Phase II of ASQ Mentoring Program Pilot Launched.  How will the mentoring program work? Student and Regular members wishing to become protégés complete the application and identify their top two selections from the mentor profiles on the mentor selection form.  Both forms are then submitted to the mentoring program. Protégés will be matched with their top selection, if possible. Introductions will be made and if the relationship is mutually agreed upon, the mentoring experience will begin.
